cec vr demo | Theatre Concessions & Grocery Items
These concession item assets I designed as an organizational game developer for a student-led group based within the Early College Academy/Career Enrichment Center, the renowned magnet school of Albuquerque, New Mexico, providing in-depth learning opportunities for sophomore, junior, and senior high school students!
The goal of this project specifically was to launch an in-house, virtual reality demo utilizing Unity game engine in compatibility with the Oculus Rift, acting as a kickstarter to further its reputation.
However, the project was later shelved due to publishing complications, and external circumstances beyond my control. In context of these assets, the VR demo would initially take place in an abandoned shopping mall, leading the player to a haunted cinema. As the player traverses through the map, they would time-travel from the past to the dilapidated present, in solving a variety of puzzles along the way.
In understanding the artistic context, the general visual-aesthetic of the project consisted of little to semi-photorealistic, base-color, and edge-unashamed visuals. Which, in dedication to making contribution, I stepped outside of my own artistic standards to develop visually consistent assets for the project. In greater depth, the game's early development was in producing as many assets as efficiently possible.
Additionally, for this specific asset task, I was requested to make use of Stable Diffusion for the manufactured item labels with a few miscellaneous textures as well. Nonetheless, I applied myself to the task at hand!
